Planning Commission Meeting

  • Poolesville Town Hall 19721 Beall Street Poolesville, MD, 20837 United States (map)

This meeting is an important joint worksession with Willshire's would-be developer, Miller & Smith. Both the Town Commission and the Planning Commission will meet with Miller & Smith to discuss the proposed Willshire Development plan. The meeting agenda (available here), describes the worksession as follows:

Commissioner and Planning Commission Joint Worksession

The subject of the session will be the Willshire Development. While there will be no votes taken during the session, it will allow the newer members of the P.C. to understand the Commissioners visions and thoughts regarding the development in a public setting.

This "round table" style meeting may include philosophies or overlay concepts, but generally, should focus on the site plan that is currently under review. Items to discuss could include density, townhouses, layout, tie-in to adjacent parcels and any other items that may arise. Link Hoewing, previous Planning Commission member and Commissioner, has agreed to moderate the session.

While this meeting is open to the public, the audience is typically not part of the discussion and participation is not allowed.

We urge you to attend this important meeting and see how our town officials weigh-in on the proposed plan, questions of density, and broader impacts to our community. Our presence at this meeting will let town officials know that we are invested in this process and we are paying close attention to how it proceeds. Make sure to get (and wear!) a PoP sticker at the meeting (pictured above)--we'll be distributing them outside of Town Hall.

POP will submit the initial results of our petition to both the Town and Planning Commissions this Monday, giving them time to review and digest community feedback in advance of the meeting. If you haven't signed yet, please take a minute to do so now:

See you this Wednesday night (2/15), 7:30 at Town Hall!
